Job Description

Datadog is looking for a Senior Director of Product Marketing to lead product marketing across Application Performance Monitoring (APM), Digital Experience Monitoring (DEM), and Developer Tools. You will lead the teams responsible for defining how these products compete, go to market, and grow. As a second-line leader, you will turn product strategy, competitive intelligence, market dynamics, customer needs, and product maturity into focused, full-funnel marketing strategies. This is an opportunity to own Product Marketing for three of Datadog’s fastest-growing product areas while helping define a new category we are entering.

At Datadog, we place value in our office culture - the relationships and collaboration it builds and the creativity it brings to the table. We operate as a hybrid workplace to ensure our Datadogs can create a work-life harmony that best fits them.

What You’ll Do:

• Lead and develop the Product Marketing organizations responsible for APM, DEM, and Developer Tools, coaching people managers and building high-performing teams capable of scaling with the business.

• Own portfolio-level product marketing strategy across three distinct businesses, using market, customer, competitive, funnel, and financial insights to identify growth levers, prioritize investments, and establish clear strategies to win.

• Partner with C-level executives and senior Product, Sales, and Marketing leaders to shape major product narratives, influence go-to-market priorities, and align product positioning with Datadog’s broader platform strategy.

• Set the go-to-market direction for each product line, determining the right mix of launches, campaigns, content, customer programs, sales enablement, and other marketing tactics based on product maturity, audience, business objectives, and performance data.

• Build a deep understanding of complex technical products, customers, and markets so you can challenge assumptions, strengthen positioning, guide teams through technical narratives, and connect product capabilities to measurable customer and business value.

• Establish a culture of operational excellence, talent development, and accountability across the organization, including hiring, leadership development, organizational planning, prioritization, and continuous improvement of Product Marketing practices.

Who You Are:

• An experienced Product Marketing leader with significant experience leading complex technical product portfolios and operating at senior leadership level; the Senior Director career path typically reflects 12+ years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree, 10 years with a Master’s degree, or equivalent experience.

• A proven second-line leader with 5+ years of leadership experience and meaningful experience managing and developing people managers, building organizations, hiring exceptional talent, and growing future leaders.

• A business-oriented leader who understands growth levers, business and financial performance, full-funnel marketing, and how to use quantitative and qualitative data to make portfolio-level decisions.

• Deeply experienced in go-to-market strategy, with the judgment to select different positioning, launch, campaign, enablement, customer, and demand-generation approaches for products at different stages of maturity.

• Technically credible and able to develop a strong command of sophisticated infrastructure, application, developer, or adjacent technologies, translating complex concepts into differentiated narratives and business value.

• An influential executive communicator who can navigate ambiguity, align senior stakeholders, challenge constructively, make clear tradeoffs, and establish trusted partnerships across Product, Sales, Marketing, and other functions.

Datadog values people from all walks of life. We understand not everyone will meet all the above qualifications on day one. That's okay. If you’re passionate about technology and want to grow your skills, we encourage you to apply.
