Field Applications Engineering Manager (w/m/d)

We are seeking a seasoned Field Application Engineering Manager to lead and grow a world-class technical sales engineering organization focused on our Enterprise portfolio. The successful candidate will combine deep technical expertise in ECAD and electronic data management with strong leadership capabilities to drive customer success, market adoption, and business growth.

Working across Sales, Marketing, Product Management, and Engineering, you will guide technical engagements, mentor a team of Field Application Engineers, and advocate for customer requirements throughout the product lifecycle. This highly visible role requires strategic thinking, technical leadership, and the ability to influence key decisions while building trusted relationships with customers worldwide. Travel of up to 30% is expected.

• Drive the successful execution of technical sales initiatives across the Field Application Engineering organization for the assigned product portfolio.

• Communicate complex technical solutions in terms of measurable business value, productivity gains, risk reduction, and strategic outcomes.

• Work alongside Sales and Account Managers to execute strategic account plans and expand long-term business opportunities.

• Define evaluation goals and customer success criteria while positioning our solutions against competing alternatives.

• Exceptionally knowledge of the EDA industry, its products and competitive landscape

• Ability to understand and clearly communicate Altium’s Enterprise goals and objectives

• Possess ability to be empathetic, understand specific customer requirements, how they think, understand what  their goals are, why an ECAD Data Management solution is important to their business, and develop a proposed plan to address their specific needs

• Be proactive and leverage ECAD-specific technical expertise, project management and communication skills to work effectively with sales, deployment and extended technical and cross-functional teams

The day in the life of the FAE Manager:

• Work closely with ECAD Enterprise Account Managers, Solution Architects Manager and Deployment Managers to understand customer requirements and guide the team to define the technical solutions to support the strategy.

• Review Discovery calls to understand the current customer environment, business goals, technical challenges.

• Manage the technical strategy, ensuring the customer’s requirements and expectations are properly set.

• Collaborate with R&D;/engineering teams to identify and resolve product/performance issues.

• Participate in product development review meetings and represent the voice of the customer.

• Use in-depth knowledge of client, industry, business processes, and deep knowledge of the product and technical expertise to drive and increase adoption and usage of Altium Enterprise Solutions.

• Ability to create technical presentations and demonstrations to target individual customers on an as needed basis.

• Travel to customer sites as needed to better understand requirements and/or provide onsite technical presentations.
