Backend Software Engineer (Mid-Senior)

About Us

The bottleneck now has moved from code generation to security and safety - AI agents write code faster than any team can review it, and over 65% of the lines of code produced by them are insecure. Vulnerabilities are piling up 16x faster than companies can fix them, and adversaries are able to exploit these new vulnerabilities within hours.

AURI by Endor Labs closes that gap. It runs inside the harness where coding agents work, through hooks, skills and MCP, so the controls sit outside the model and every agent action is visible. Underneath is our patented code context graph, which maps code, open source, containers and infrastructure. It shows which vulnerabilities can actually be reached and exploited, then delivers fixes that won’t break the application. • Join Our Cutting-Edge Backend Team: Dive into the heart of innovation by working on a state-of-the-art distributed system with a sophisticated monorepo architecture.

• Own Core Product Functionality: Own the core functionality at the heart of Endor’s AppSec platform. Design and deliver features that secure source code end to end, from IDE to deployment, fueling the next generation of AI-driven software development.

• AI Code security - Be at the forefront of securing customer code with bleeding edge AI code security solutions.

• Elevate Core Services: Drive the development and optimization of vital core services like our API Gateway and API servers, ensuring robust and scalable infrastructure.

• Maintain diverse scan environments - Enhance our dynamic cloud scan platform by supporting the ever-growing build and tool chain requirements.

• Innovate with Autonomy: Embrace the freedom to design and build top-tier tools that will be leveraged across all teams at Endor, making a significant impact on our operations.

• Champion Observability: Apply best practices in observability to ensure our products and platforms achieve exceptional reliability and availability for our users.

What We're Looking For

• Engineering Expertise: Bachelor’s in engineering and 3-5 years of experience.

• Golang Mastery: Showcase ~3 years of experience in Golang programming, with a deep focus on microservices and distributed architecture, to drive our cutting-edge solutions.

• Build tools and tool chains familiarity - How different tool chains like Maven, pip, npm work to provide a seamless scan experience for our customers.

• Scalable Systems: Bring your experience with scalable distributed systems, including microservices, domain-driven design, load balancing, and scaling strategies (both horizontal and vertical), to tackle complex challenges.

• Effective Communicator: Leverage your ability to discuss architectural trade-offs and guide teams towards the most effective solutions, ensuring alignment and forward momentum.

• Adaptable Innovator: Thrive in a fast-paced environment with shifting requirements, embracing change and finding creative solutions to new and unfamiliar problems.

• AI Savvy - Leverage AI and automated code generation tools to accelerate the delivery of robust, security-hardened, and production-grade software.

Preferred Skills

• Master of Secure Design: Expertise in secure software design principles, including managing certificates, OAuth2/OIDC, and implementing secure changes.

• Cloud-Native Proficiency: Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, Docker, Lambda functions, or other cutting-edge cloud-native technologies.

• Security Savvy: Knowledge of security, fraud prevention, and anomaly detection to tackle real-world challenges and safeguard our systems with cutting-edge solutions.

Compensation

For candidates who receive an offer for this position, the compensation range is expected to be between $150,000 - $200,000. This may include additional incentives such as commission targets, restricted stock units, and/or bonuses, depending on the role.
