[MSO] Senior OpenStack Engineer
Job Description
Project – the aim you’ll have
You will join an internal OpenStack team that designs, deploys and operates private and sovereign cloud platforms for enterprise clients in Western Europe, including a Benelux managed service provider exiting VMware. Environments range from multi region platforms across several data centres to compact telco and edge clusters. Key selling points: you own the architecture, the same team operates the platform afterwards, and you cooperate directly with client architects.
Role – how you’ll contribute
• Own the platform architecture across control plane, compute, storage and network, including the high availability model and resource sizing.
• Produce the design documentation: High Level Design, Low Level Design, as built documentation and operational runbooks.
• Deploy and upgrade the platform with Kolla-Ansible, with configuration maintained as code in Git.
• Integrate storage, networking, identity and load balancing: Cinder, OVN and Open vSwitch, Keystone with OIDC federation, Octavia and Barbican.
• Set up metrics and logging, and integrate the platform with the client ServiceNow CMDB.
• Run technical workshops, design reviews and acceptance testing with client representatives.
• Act as third line escalation for platforms under management and lead root cause analysis.
• Support pre sales as technical expert and provide technical guidance to engineers in the team.
