WHOOP is hiring a Senior Global Supply Manager, Contract Manufacturing to lead the commercial strategy and management of key global manufacturing partners across new product introduction, production ramp, mass production, and sustaining programs. In this role, you will own complex commercial negotiations, manufacturing cost strategy, supplier governance, capacity and investment decisions, and contractual workstreams that enable WHOOP to deliver innovative products at scale.

You will operate at the intersection of Global Supply Management, Manufacturing, Hardware Engineering, Quality, Finance, Legal, Materials, Operations, and Program Management. As a senior commercial leader, you will independently navigate complex supplier relationships, translate technical and operational requirements into effective commercial frameworks, and drive decisions that improve cost competitiveness, supply resilience, speed, and the WHOOP member experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Own the commercial strategy and key business relationships with assigned contract manufacturing partners across product development, NPI, production ramp, mass production, and sustaining operations.

• Lead complex negotiations covering manufacturing value-add, labor and overhead, supplier margin, NRE, tooling, capital equipment, capacity, payment terms, inventory exposure, productivity commitments, and other components of total manufacturing cost.

• Build, evaluate, and challenge detailed manufacturing cost models and supplier quotations, partnering with Finance, Manufacturing, and Global Supply Management teams to improve cost transparency, validate assumptions, and drive lifecycle cost and productivity improvements.

• Drive commercial readiness for new and existing products, including RFQs, supplier proposals, capacity and capital plans, contractual commitments, and manufacturing-partner sourcing or allocation decisions.

• Establish strong supplier governance and executive relationships, using business reviews, performance metrics, and corrective-action plans to drive accountability across cost, quality, delivery, capacity, productivity, inventory, and commercial execution.

• Lead resolution of complex supplier and commercial issues while identifying longer-term opportunities to strengthen manufacturing strategy, supplier economics, operating mechanisms, and supply-chain resilience.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Finance, Operations, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

• 8+ years of experience in global supply management, strategic sourcing, contract manufacturing, supplier commercial management, or a related function within consumer electronics, consumer hardware, or another high-volume manufacturing environment.

• Demonstrated experience owning complex commercial relationships with contract manufacturers, ODMs, or JDMs and supporting products through development, NPI, production ramp, and mass production.

• Strong understanding of contract manufacturing economics, including manufacturing value-add, labor and overhead, yield and utilization, supplier margin, NRE, tooling, capital equipment, material markups, inventory liability, and payment terms.

• Proven experience leading complex commercial negotiations, developing or challenging detailed cost models, and translating technical and operational requirements into effective financial and contractual structures.

• Ability to influence senior internal and external stakeholders, exercise sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and independently drive complex commercial issues to resolution in a fast-paced, global environment.

• Ability to travel internationally approximately 25% of the time to support negotiations, business reviews, manufacturing readiness, supplier relationships, and critical program milestones.

• Strong commitment to embracing and leveraging AI tools in day-to-day tasks, ensuring AI-assisted work aligns with the same high-quality standards as personal contributions.
