Executive Director, Commercial – Broadcasters, Publishers & Platforms
Job Description
The Executive Director leads commercial strategy, revenue growth, and key industry partnerships for Nielsen’s multi-million dollar media portfolio across Australia and New Zealand. This executive position drives sales performance, high-level C-Suite engagement, and contract negotiations across major television broadcasters, digital publishers, programmatic ad tech platforms, and industry bodies.
Key Responsibilities
Commercial Strategy & Revenue Performance
• Drive overall commercial growth and revenue strategy for Nielsen's Media portfolio across Australia and New Zealand.
• Lead multi-million dollar contract negotiations, extensions, and renewals for primary audience measurement currency services.
• Implement sales discipline, pipeline management, and revenue forecasting across all account segments.
• Lead Nielsen’s response strategy for major competitive procurement processes, including RFIs, RFPs, and open market tenders.
• Negotiate complex commercial parameters, cost-efficiency frameworks, and KPI adjustments while preserving contract profitability and margin performance.
Strategic Client & Industry Relationships
• Maintain C-level engagement with major media owners and broadcasters, including TVNZ, Sky NZ, Stuff NZ, NZME, Seven Network, Nine Network, Network Ten, ARN & SCA.
• Manage key industry relationships and licensing agreements with data partners such as TBG New Zealand, OzTAM Australia, Commercial Radio Australia, Radio Bureau New Zealand, IAB AU & NZ.
• Expand strategic commercial partnerships with programmatic ad tech platforms, including The Trade Desk, Eyeota, Index Exchange, & Magnite.
Product Commercialisation & Innovation
• Spearhead commercial launch and market adoption of cross-platform measurement and media planning tools, including Nielsen’s TV audience measurement solutions, Consumer & Media View (CMV), Nielsen Media Impact (NMI), N1 Ads, and Ad Intel.
• Collaborate with global and regional product teams to adapt international methodology standards to local market requirements.
• Drive commercial expansion for digital activation strategies throughout Asia Pacific.
Team Leadership & Operations
• Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team of commercial and client service professionals.
• Streamline organizational structures to foster talent development and career progression.
• Oversee commercial governance, contract execution, and integration with global Customer Success operations.
