People Manager

The Senior Manager, People Strategy & Operations will serve as a trusted HR business partner to leaders and employees while also owning key HR Operations responsibilities. This position is both strategic and hands-on, translating business needs into practical people solutions and ensuring that core HR processes, systems, data, and reporting are accurate and effective.

The ideal candidate brings strong experience across employee relations, performance management, talent development, organizational effectiveness, and HR operations. They are comfortable advising leaders, navigating a fast-paced environment, using data to inform decisions, and improving the employee experience. Experience with Workday and ADP Workforce Now is strongly preferred.

Job Summary

People Business Partnership

● Serve as a trusted advisor to leaders and managers on workforce planning, team structure, performance, employee relations, and organizational effectiveness.

● Partner with leaders to identify people-related needs and implement solutions that support business objectives and a high-performing work environment.

● Coach managers on performance management, feedback, talent development, employee engagement, and retention.

● Support organizational change efforts, including communications, transition planning, and implementation.

● Apply sound judgment and a practical, employee-centered approach to people decisions and workplace issues.

● Leverage people data and HR metrics to identify trends, inform recommendations, and support continuous improvement.
● Collaborate with People team partners to deliver consistent, scalable programs and services.

Employee Relations & Experience

● Act as a primary point of contact for employee relations matters, conducting or supporting thorough investigations and ensuring fair, consistent resolutions.

● Provide guidance to employees and managers on policies, performance concerns, workplace practices, and employee programs.

● Promote a culture of inclusion, accountability, respect, and open communication aligned with company values.

● Partner with Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development, Total Rewards, and other People team members to support onboarding, engagement, development, and retention.

● Help ensure an exceptional employee experience across the employee lifecycle.

Compliance & Process Improvement

● Support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local employment laws, company policies, and internal controls.

● Assist with audits, required reporting, employment verification, recordkeeping, and other compliance-related activities.

● Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, reduce manual work, improve data quality, and strengthen operational controls.

● Lead or support HR operations projects, including system enhancements, process redesign, acquisitions, reorganizations, and other cross-functional initiatives.

● Maintain awareness of HR operations best practices, system capabilities, and evolving compliance requirements.

HR Operations & HRIS Administration

● Own or support core HR operations across the employee lifecycle, including onboarding, job and organization changes, transfers, leaves, status changes, and offboarding.

● Maintain accurate and timely employee records, organizational data, position data, and other HRIS information.

● Partner with Payroll, Benefits, and other stakeholders to ensure accurate and timely processing of employee changes.

● Support HRIS workflows, business processes, employee and manager self-service, system access, integrations, issue resolution, testing, and system updates.

● Maintain HR policies, procedures, process documentation, and standard operating procedures.

● Identify opportunities to streamline HR processes, reduce manual work, improve data quality, and strengthen operational controls.

Qualifications

Required:

● Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.

● 8+ years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3 years in an HR business partner or generalist role.

● Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) industry experience preferred.

● Prior experience supporting and managing a manufacturing population is required.

● Solid understanding of HR disciplines, including employee relations, performance management, and talent development.

● Working knowledge of employment laws, specifically California and HR compliance requirements.

● Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and influence at all levels of the organization.

● Comfortable working in a fast-paced and evolving environment.

Preferred:

● Experience with Workday, including HRIS administration, business processes, reporting, data audits, or testing.

● Experience with ADP Workforce Now, including employee data maintenance, reporting, payroll or benefits coordination, and system troubleshooting.

● Experience supporting HRIS integrations or working across multiple People systems.
