About the Role:
Color’s Growth Marketing team is responsible for driving revenue and impact across our entire book of business. The Growth Marketing team includes lifecycle, CRM, customer marketing, onsite events, campaign strategy and execution, design, and content that brings our marketing to life across many employer, health plan, and union clients. As our team has grown, so has the operational load behind it, and right now that load is spread across individuals on the team. We're hiring a Growth Operations & Automation Manager to take ownership, and enable our team to scale. This person will be the operating system behind our energetic and dynamic team. This is an individual contributor role and reports to the Director of Engagement Marketing.

This role can either be a hybrid role onsite at our office in South San Francisco, CA or hybrid in Denver, Colorado.

How You'll Contribute:

• Turn the team's problems into clear requests for product and engineering, get them prioritized, and follow them through to launch

• Build smaller tools and automations yourself, and remove manual work

• Build and run the systems and processes that support our campaign calendar, QA and documentation, and weekly reporting, so the team moves faster and makes fewer errors

• Act as a "go-to" resource for a wide range of requests related to improving processes across the team

• Make it easier for clients to approve marketing campaigns and for the team to handle customization requests

• Own weekly reporting across channels and accounts, so anyone on the team can see how campaigns are doing without asking

• Own the team's annual and quarterly planning process: setting the cadence, keeping goals current, and holding the team accountable to them

• Help set data standards across campaigns, including naming conventions and tagging, so performance is comparable across campaigns instead of every campaign getting analyzed its own way

• Identify and understand gaps in existing processes and tools, and implement fixes

• Own the contracts and budget for the marketing tech stack, tracking renewals, evaluating new tools, and working with finance on forecasting

• Work cross-functionally with some of our closest collaborators - including product, engineering and client services, to support projects that drive revenue and patient impact

 Our Ideal Candidate Will Have:

• Experience in marketing operations, product operations, technical program or product management, strategy and operations, or business operations, working independently without dedicated analyst support

• The ability to deeply understand a messy problem and translate it into a clear written request: what's wrong, who's affected, what done looks like, and what's out of scope

• A working understanding of how engineers build, enough to scope a request, ask good questions, and know when to build something yourself and when to ask for help

• Have built operating cadences, planning processes, or business reviews from scratch in a fast-moving, ambiguous environment

• Have built or owned a measurement framework from scratch, not just reported metrics someone else defined

• Experience using AI to make your own or a team's work measurably faster, and the judgment to check what it produces and when it isn’t the solution

• Are fluent with spreadsheets, business intelligence dashboards, and project management softwares

• A bias toward action: you don't need a lot of direction to get moving, and you see systems, not just tasks, instinctively working to improve them

Nice to Haves:

• Time at high-growth technology companies

• Familiarity with pipeline measurement, marketing attribution, and lead funnel operations

• Working knowledge of SQL or business intelligence tooling

• Hands-on experience building in Braze, including custom attributes and campaign QA.

• Experience with Asana and Airtable, specifically using them to manage campaign intake and tracking

• Experience in an internal Product Management role

• Experience redesigning how a team communicates, such as meeting structure or information flow

• Healthcare, benefits, or other regulated-industry marketing experience

What We Offer:

• 💰 Competitive salary

• ✨ Comprehensive medical, dental, vision, life, and disability benefits

• 📈 401k match

• 📝 Monthly phone and wifi stipend for employees, annual ergonomic stipend

• 🏝 Generous vacation policy, paid holidays and company-wide recharge days

• 🍼 Equal paid parental leave for birthing and non-birthing parents

• Free cancer screening and prevention resources for employees and their adult dependents

The actual base pay is dependent upon many factors, such as: work experience, market data, skills, geographic location, and business need. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future. This role may also be eligible for equity and benefits.
