Job Description

WHY JOIN ALO?

Mindful movement. It’s at the core of why we do what we do at ALO—it’s our calling. Because mindful movement in the studio leads to better living. It changes who yogis are off the mat, making their lives and their communities better. That’s the real meaning of studio-to-street: taking the consciousness from practice on the mat and putting it into practice in life.

OVERVIEW:

The Director, Distribution Center Security & Asset Protection is the enterprise leader accountable for the strategy, governance, performance, and continued development of ALO's security and asset protection program across the North America distribution center network. Based in Las Vegas, this role protects people, product, facilities, information, and business continuity across the current four-site footprint and future network expansion.

The Director translates enterprise risk and business priorities into a scalable operating model spanning physical security, loss prevention, guard force operations, access control, investigations, workplace violence and threat response support, yard and dock security, visitor and vendor management, incident management, security technology, and crisis readiness. The role establishes network standards while ensuring each site applies controls proportionate to its risk, operating profile, and growth plans.

As a senior partner to Distribution & Logistics leadership, Asset Protection, HR, Legal, Safety, IT, Facilities, Inventory Control, Transportation, Finance, and site leaders, the Director provides clear risk counsel, owns the multi-year program roadmap and investment case, and drives measurable improvement through disciplined governance, strong talent and vendor leadership, executive-ready reporting, and consistent field execution.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Enterprise Strategy, Governance & Risk

• Own and execute the enterprise distribution center security and asset protection strategy, including the operating model, governance structure, multi-year roadmap, priorities, performance standards, and resource plan for current and future sites.

• Establish network policies, standards, post orders, audit routines, incident classifications, escalation protocols, corrective-action governance, and minimum control requirements; approve risk-based site exceptions and ensure appropriate leadership visibility.

• Lead recurring current-state assessments and validation visits across the full risk path - property line, parking, entrances, gates, yards, docks, shipping, receiving, inventory flows, returns, high-value areas, disposal, emergency exits, and exterior premises - to verify actual execution and control effectiveness.

• Maintain site risk profiles, network heat maps, control maturity assessments, immediate-action plans, and 30/60/90-day roadmaps; prioritize exposure based on people risk, loss potential, operational impact, threat environment, control reliability, and business continuity.

• Serve as the principal distribution center security and asset protection advisor to senior leaders, presenting emerging risk, significant incidents, root causes, investment options, tradeoffs, and decisions requiring executive sponsorship.

• Define program KPIs and KRIs, including loss and recovery trends, incident rates, access exceptions, security system availability, guard performance, trailer/seal exceptions, audit results, case aging, and corrective-action closure; use data to drive accountability and investment decisions.

Operational Security & Asset Protection

• Direct the network approach to physical security, access control, CCTV, intrusion detection, visitor management, key and badge governance, perimeter protection, lighting, emergency exits, and guard-force deployment.

• Establish asset protection controls across inbound, storage, picking, packing, outbound, returns, high-value product, damaged goods, waste, transportation handoffs, trailer and seal integrity, and other known shortage or diversion points.

• Partner with Distribution Center and Inventory Control leaders to analyze shrink, process breakdowns, repeat exceptions, and loss events; sponsor corrective actions that improve control without creating unnecessary operational friction.

• Set network standards for employee, contractor, visitor, carrier, and vendor access; ensure credential lifecycle, access reviews, escort requirements, dock and yard procedures, and exception management are consistently executed.

• Review and approve security requirements for new facilities, expansions, remodels, automation, and material process changes, including site layout, CPTED-informed design, access points, camera coverage, control-room needs, guard posts, yard flow, and emergency pathways.

Investigations, Threat Response & Business Resilience

• Provide governance and senior oversight for significant or complex investigations involving internal or external theft, fraud, diversion, unauthorized access, workplace threats, policy violations, vendor misconduct, cargo exceptions, or other security incidents.

• Ensure investigations, interviews, evidence handling, video preservation, case documentation, confidentiality, and corrective-action recommendations are objective, consistent, timely, and aligned with company policy and applicable requirements in partnership with HR and Legal.

• Lead the security response to critical distribution center incidents and support workplace violence prevention and threat management processes; coordinate escalation, situational awareness, protective actions, law enforcement engagement, and executive communications.

• Partner with Safety, Facilities, HR, Operations, Legal, and public-safety agencies to strengthen preparedness for active threats, civil unrest, severe weather, fire, evacuation, lockdown, utility loss, and other events that could affect people or continuity of operations.

People, Vendors & Financial Stewardship

• Build and lead a high-performing security and asset protection organization through clear roles, goals, operating rhythms, coaching, succession planning, and development of direct reports, dotted-line site partners, and cross-functional control owners.

• Set leadership expectations and create a culture in which associates and leaders understand their role in protecting people, product, facilities, and continuity; sponsor practical training and awareness for employees, contractors, and site leadership.

• Own contract security strategy and performance across the network, including sourcing support, staffing models, service levels, post compliance, training, patrol execution, incident reporting, quality assurance, business reviews, and remediation of performance gaps.

• Develop and manage operating and capital budgets for guard services, technology, projects, and program resources; validate invoices, forecast needs, quantify risk reduction and operational value, and prioritize investments using cost-to-risk and ROI-based analysis.

• Build effective external partnerships with law enforcement, emergency responders, landlords, carriers, insurers, consultants, and security service providers to improve readiness, intelligence sharing, response coordination, and recovery.

Technology, Intelligence & Continuous Improvement

• Own the distribution center security technology roadmap in partnership with IT and Facilities, including system architecture, lifecycle planning, integration, standards, cybersecurity interfaces, video retention, analytics, monitoring, maintenance, and uptime expectations.

• Establish governance for security data and reporting, ensuring dashboards and executive updates clearly identify risk, business impact, root cause, action owner, due date, status, and sustained-control verification.

• Monitor relevant internal and external threat information, cargo theft patterns, organized retail crime connections, workplace threat indicators, operational changes, and site-specific conditions; translate intelligence into proportionate preventive action.

• Benchmark the program against relevant professional and supply-chain security practices, including ASIS, TAPA, ISO 31000, ISO 28000, NFPA 730, CTPAT-aligned principles, and applicable workplace violence and warehousing guidance, using them to inform practical controls rather than add unnecessary complexity.

• Drive continuous improvement by testing control effectiveness, sharing lessons learned across sites, standardizing successful practices, retiring ineffective controls, and reporting measurable gains in risk reduction, loss prevention, readiness, and execution.

Leadership Competencies

• Enterprise leadership: Sets a clear direction, aligns multiple sites and functions, and converts strategy into sustained operating discipline.

• Executive influence: Communicates risk and recommendations with clarity, sound judgment, and business context; gains alignment without relying solely on direct authority.

• Business and financial acumen: Connects security and asset protection decisions to operational performance, growth, customer commitments, cost, and continuity.

• Risk-based decision-making: Balances life safety, workplace threats, product loss, cargo risk, unauthorized access, reputational exposure, compliance, and business disruption.

• Talent and culture leadership: Develops strong leaders, builds accountability, and creates practical ownership of security and asset protection across the organization.

• Operational fluency: Understands distribution center processes, inventory and transportation flows, technology dependencies, vendor operations, and the realities of a high-volume environment.

• Investigative judgment: Handles sensitive matters with objectivity, confidentiality, appropriate urgency, and disciplined documentation.

• Data and improvement orientation: Uses metrics, trend analysis, control testing, and lessons learned to prioritize action and demonstrate program value.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business, Supply Chain, Operations, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience may be considered.

• 10+ years of progressive leadership experience in corporate security, asset protection, loss prevention, supply-chain security, or related risk operations, preferably within distribution, logistics, retail, manufacturing, or high-volume fulfillment environments.

• Demonstrated experience owning a multi-site or regional security and asset protection program, including strategy, governance, budgeting, talent leadership, executive reporting, and measurable performance improvement.

• Experience building, transforming, or materially scaling a security, asset protection, loss prevention, or operational risk function across multiple locations.

• Proven leadership of managers, professionals, site resources, and contract security teams; experience establishing organizational structure, performance expectations, and succession plans.

• Strong experience with guard-force strategy and vendor governance, including sourcing, contracts or statements of work, staffing models, service levels, business reviews, cost management, and corrective action.

• Demonstrated leadership of complex investigations, critical incident response, workplace threat support, vulnerability assessments, and root-cause/corrective-action processes.

• Working expertise with enterprise CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, alarm monitoring, incident and case management, analytics, and physical security technology lifecycle planning.

• Experience developing operating and capital budgets, business cases, technology roadmaps, KPIs/KRIs, dashboards, and executive-level risk communications.

• Professional certification such as CPP, PSP, PCI, APP, LPC, LPQ, or a comparable security, investigations, or asset protection credential preferred.

• Ability to travel regularly, approximately 40% or as business needs require, and to support urgent incidents across time zones and variable distribution center schedules.

• Ability to work effectively in distribution center, yard, and dock environments, including extended walking and standing and exposure to variable operational conditions, with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Primary Location: Las Vegas Distribution Center

• Travel: Approximately 40%, based on business need

• Network Scope: Las Vegas, Dallas, Memphis, Maryland and future sites
