Job Description
The Engineering Intern will join Western Digital's Head Backend Business Unit for a structured 3-6 month internship program at the Philippines site (PHO). The internship is designed to provide hands-on exposure to precision manufacturing operations, specifically slider processing and HGA (Head Gimbal Assembly) assembly within the storage technology industry.
Interns will be embedded in the Engineering organization and assigned a dedicated buddy/mentor. The internship is structured with clear deliverables, a mid-point check-in, and a final project presentation.
High-performing interns will be considered for conversion to the ECT -- under the BEST Program.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting day-to-day engineering activities in assigned function area
• Assisting in data collection, process monitoring, and documentation
• Contributing to a defined internship project with measurable output
• Attending structured learning sessions and technical orientations
• Completing mid-point and end-of-internship assessments
• Presenting internship project findings to team and mentor at program close
