Channel Sales Lead (Contract) | Acorns
Acorns is exploring a new program to help service professionals, starting with barbers and stylists, build savings and wealth from the income they earn every day. We’re looking for an individual contributor to build the industry partnerships that bring it to barbershops and salons.
This is a hybrid partnerships and industry-relationship role. You'll need real credibility in the beauty and personal-care space. That means people who've sold into salons, worked the trade show and distributor circuit, or spent time on the service-provider side.
Location & Work Arrangement
This role is being offered on a contract basis requiring 40 hours per week. The position is field-based, with occasional travel for partner meetings and industry events.
Acorns is a remote-first organization, offering the flexibility to work remotely with optional access to its Irvine, CA office. The contract is expected to last six months, with the potential for extension or conversion based on business needs.
What you will do at Acorns
• Own a pipeline of partners across the beauty and barber ecosystem and move them from first conversation to signed partnership. Partner types include:
• Supply distributors, such as SalonCentric, CosmoProf, and independent beauty suppliers
• Salon chains, franchises, and booth-rental brands, such as Great Clips, Regis, and Sola
• Booking and POS platforms, such as theCut, Booksy, and Squire
• Barber culture and tool brands, such as Tomb45, Suavecito, and Wahl
• Leverage your existing relationships in the beauty industry (distributors, booth-rental chains, franchise groups, beauty schools, trade associations, and influencers) to open doors and land multi-location and franchise partnerships.
• Structure partnerships such as co-marketing, rev-share, education content, affiliate, and embedded distribution, working with Acorns Legal and Compliance on terms.
• Activate partner channels such as sales teams, marketing channels, and education content so sign-ups, activation, and tip volume follow.
• Represent Acorns at industry trade shows, beauty conventions, and stylist community events to build the brand and the pipeline.
• Maintain the partner tracker and report pipeline, outreach, and results to Acorns leadership.
• Work cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, Legal, and Compliance to refine the pitch, onboarding flow, and QR code experience based on what you hear from partners and professionals.
• Gather on-the-ground feedback from barbers, stylists, and partners to shape how the product evolves for the service industry.
What you will bring to Acorns
• 5+ years of experience selling into or working within the salon, barbershop, or beauty industry, as a sales rep, distributor, brand rep, franchise consultant, or similar. You have a real network of contacts you can activate on day one.
• A track record of closing relationship-driven partnerships or sales with business owners, distributors, or franchise groups.
• Experience working independently and managing your own pipeline and cadence across multiple partners at once.
• Comfort with the fintech and product side. You don't need a finance background, but you should learn Acorns' product well enough to pitch it credibly to partners.
• Strong organizational skills: tracking pipeline, managing follow-ups, and reporting results.
• Willingness to travel regularly for partner meetings and industry events.
• Hunger to build something new. This is a brand-new program, so comfort with ambiguity and a builder's mindset matter.
• A belief that your work is tied to your life's mission and an optimistic outlook on the potential for societal change through financial wellness.
What's in it for you?
• Competitive hourly rate
• Flexible work location
• Talented and motivated team members who care deeply about one another, our mission, and our customers
• The rare opportunity to create a new world, solving big societal challenges through meaningful work
