THE ROLE
We are looking for a Corporate Tax Manager (UK & US) to oversee corporate tax compliance in the UK and the US, and lead a team of associates across international compliance, tax payments and tax reporting. The role ensures that compliance and reporting outputs are accurate and timely, and flags where positions may affect the group's Pillar Two calculations. It suits a hands-on, numerate tax professional who is equally comfortable with technical tax analysis and with financial statements, ledgers and Excel models.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
• Lead corporate income tax compliance for the group's UK and US entities: review of returns and computations, tax payments and correspondence with HMRC, the IRS and US state tax authorities.
• Review and monitor UK compliance (CT600 returns, quarterly instalment payments, Senior Accounting Officer requirements) and US federal and state compliance (Form 1120 filings, estimated tax payments).
• Own the UK and US compliance calendar and ensure all tax payments are calculated correctly, approved, paid on time and reconciled to the general ledger.
• Prepare and review current and deferred tax calculations for group and statutory reporting (IAS 12 / ASC 740), including effective tax rate analysis and tax account reconciliations; support Country-by-Country Reporting and other tax disclosures.
• Provide tax inputs to month-, quarter- and year-end close.
• Flag the potential Pillar Two impact of compliance and reporting positions and provide the relevant data to the group's Pillar Two process.
• Track UK and US legislative developments and assess their impact on the group.
• Work with external advisors and local finance teams on technical matters
• Lead, coach and review the work of a team of Tax Associates; build and maintain robust processes, controls and documentation.
• Act as a key point of contact for Finance, Treasury, Legal and external advisors.
WHO YOU ARE
• Degree in Economics, Accounting or Finance;
• Previous in-house experience in UK and/or US corporate income tax, ideally gained in a Big Four firm and/or a multinational in-house tax team.
• Proven ability to read and analyse financial statements and accounting information (trial balances, ledgers, reconciliations) and translate them into tax computations.
• Advanced Excel skills and experience with ERP and financial accounting tools (e.g. SAP, Microsoft and similar).
• Experience in tax compliance, tax payments and tax reporting in an international group, including reviewing work prepared by teams or external providers.
• Fluent, professional-level English (written and spoken) – essential.
• Experience leading or supervising junior team members.
• Working knowledge of Pillar Two / GloBE rules and their interaction with financial reporting.
• Hands-on experience across both UK and US corporate tax.
• Experience with US GAAP tax provisioning (ASC 740).
• Analytical and numerate, with strong attention to the link between accounting data and tax outcomes.
• Organised and deadline-driven, comfortable owning a multi-jurisdiction compliance calendar.
• Pragmatic and solution-oriented; able to work in a fast-paced environment and close topics.
• A clear communicator who can explain tax matters to non-tax stakeholders.
• A people leader who develops the team and raises the bar on quality.
REWARDS & BENEFITS
• Health insurance for the whole family, flexible working environment and well-being support and tools
• Extra days off, sabbatical program and days for you to give back for the community
• Training opportunities
• Flexible benefits program
