Job Description

Diablo Tools Inc. is expanding our team and are looking for a highly motivated, driven, and detail-oriented Senior Product Safety Specialist. This position will review on-tool hardware safety, audit packaging and marketing artwork, interpret evolving legal and regulatory standards, and deliver concise, legally defensible safety guidance in a fast-paced environment.

Packaging, Artwork and Warning Label Compliance

• Packaging & Artwork Audits - Collaborate with packaging and graphic design teams to review and approve packaging artwork, warning panels, icons, and instructional text, ensuring adherence to legal mandates and internal brand requirements.
• Warning Design & Risk Detection: Draft compliant warning labels and mentor teams on standards while meticulously catching fine-print inconsistencies, technical contradictions, or subtle wording that could introduce legal exposure.
Product Safety Review and Risk Assessment

• Hazard & Risk Analysis - Analyze new product designs, prototypes, and power tool accessories to identify foreseeable user hazards, evaluate risk severity, and establish proactive countermeasures.
• TTM Launch Governance - Create, update, and maintain formal Product Safety Review documentation through the development lifecycle to ensure every product launch is fully vetted.
• Decision-Making Under Ambiguity - Comfortably make decisive, legally defensible risk determinations even with incomplete data, crafting concise, impactful warnings that provide comprehensive coverage.
Testing & Evaluation

• Test Report Analysis - Define qualification testing protocols and critically analyze internal and third party testing reports to confirm product safety compliance
• Field Investigations - Support investigations into customer feedback, warranty returns, and field safety inquiries to drive continuous product safety improvements.
Regulatory Tracking & Legal Partnership

• Standards Monitoring - Stay up-to-date on evolving regulatory frameworks and landmark liability court rulings, in close collaboration with corporate legal.
• Marketing & Media Review - Audit product photography, videography, demonstrations, and marketing copy to ensure all imagery portrays reasonably safe tool operation.
Cross-Functional Leadership and Process Agility

• High-Volume Multi-Tasking - Effectively prioritize safety reviews across multiple product categories under tight launch schedules
• Best-Practice Alignment – Interface with safety peers across business units to exchange best practices.
• Team Training – Train and advise New Product Development team, engineers, and designers on safety workflows, hazard mitigation strategies and compliance fundamentals
