Job Description

Figma is growing our team of passionate creatives and builders on a mission to make design accessible to all. Figma’s platform helps teams bring ideas to life—whether you're brainstorming, creating a prototype, translating designs into code, or iterating with AI. From idea to product, Figma empowers teams to streamline workflows, move faster, and work together in real time from anywhere in the world. If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!

At Figma, we're building a vibrant community where designers and product builders come together to learn, grow, and connect around their shared passion. Our Advocacy team is central to this mission—empowering our users through engaging content, meaningful interactions, and genuine advocacy.

We're looking for a Designer Advocate focused on Payload to partner closely with our Marketing, Sales, and Product teams. You'll bring deep design expertise, strong product intuition, and a genuine love for the design and developer community into our go-to-market strategies. You'll also champion our users' voices internally, ensuring their perspectives shape our product evolution.

This is a full-time role that can be held from our New York City or San Francisco hub, or remotely in the United States.

What you’ll do at Figma:

• Collaborate closely with Sales and Customer Experience teams to help customers unlock the full potential of Payload across real product workflows

• Manage the Payload community Discord by answering questions, responding to feedback, and reviewing pull requests submitted to the open-source product

• Develop compelling written, visual, and video resources that showcase how modern teams use Payload across their end-to-end product and creative design workflows

• Foster meaningful relationships within the Payload community by identifying opportunities for collaboration and supporting user-driven initiatives

• Represent Payload at industry meetups, conferences, and community events by sharing practical insights and experiences from real-world design work

• Gather insights from community feedback, user sentiment, and emerging design trends to advocate for user needs and influence product decisions and improvements

We'd love to hear from you if you have:

• Demonstrate deep, hands-on expertise with Payload, including experience integrating it into real-world product development workflows

• Collaborate effectively with engineers and cross-functional partners in modern product development or marketing environments

• Navigate evolving workflows and technologies, including CMS, DAM, design systems, and AI-assisted design or prototyping tools

• Apply strong technical and visual design skills, with a thorough understanding of modern product design workflows, design systems, and how design decisions translate into development

• Engage actively with design and developer communities, communicating complex concepts clearly and confidently to audiences of all sizes, including through public speaking

While it’s not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:

• An entrepreneurial mindset, with the enthusiasm and ability to transform early-stage ideas into polished, impactful outcomes

• The flexibility and willingness to travel up to 25% of the time to engage with the Payload community in person

At Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. We believe in hiring smart, curious people who are excited to learn and develop their skills. If you’re excited about this role but your past experience doesn’t align perfectly with the points outlined in the job description, we encourage you to apply anyways. You may be just the right candidate for this or other roles.
