Job Description

Anduril Industries is a defense technology company with a mission to transform U.S. and allied military capabilities with advanced technology. By bringing the expertise, technology, and business model of the 21st century’s most innovative companies to the defense industry, Anduril is changing how military systems are designed, built and sold. Anduril’s family of systems is powered by Lattice OS, an AI-powered operating system that turns thousands of data streams into a realtime, 3D command and control center. As the world enters an era of strategic competition, Anduril is committed to bringing cutting-edge autonomy, AI, computer vision, sensor fusion, and networking technology to the military in months, not years.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are looking for a Manager, Classified IT Operations to lead a team of Systems Administrators supporting classified computing environments across multiple networks and sites. This is a people leadership role — you will be directly responsible for hiring, developing, and coaching a team of individual contributors while also serving as a hands-on technical practitioner within the environments your team supports.

You will own team delivery against operational commitments, drive prioritization across competing demands, and represent your team's needs and outcomes to senior leadership. As the organization scales, you will play a critical role in shaping how your team operates, grows, and maintains the security posture and reliability of the classified infrastructure we deliver to the mission.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Directly manage a team of Systems Administrators (IC2–IC4) across classified environments, including hiring, performance management, career development, and day-to-day coaching.

• Translate organizational priorities into concrete team plans, balancing operational support, compliance requirements, and infrastructure projects.

• Maintain hands-on technical credibility within the team's classified environments — reviewing work, challenging technical decisions, and contributing directly when needed.

• Drive team execution against key deliverables including patching cadences, STIG remediation, ATO preparation, and incident response.

• Coordinate with peer managers, Engineering, Cybersecurity, Facilities, and Security teams to unblock your team's work and align cross-functional efforts.

• Own the team's ticket queue and workload distribution, ensuring SLA adherence and timely resolution of Tier 1 through Tier 3 issues.

• Develop and enforce standard operating procedures, documentation standards, and configuration baselines across the environments your team supports.

• Represent the team in cross-functional forums, leadership reviews, and assessment preparation activities.

• Support site expansion efforts by coordinating your team's involvement in new network standup, deployment, and operational transition.

• Conduct regular 1:1s, provide clear and timely feedback, and drive performance conversations — including difficult ones when needed.

• Identify skill gaps within the team and build development plans that grow individual contributors from one level to the next.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Active TS/SCI security clearance.

• Active CompTIA Security+ certification or higher DoD 8140/8570-aligned certification.

• 5+ years of experience in systems administration supporting Windows and/or Linux environments.

• 2+ years of direct people management experience, including hiring, performance management, and career development of technical staff.

• Experience operating in a DoD, government, classified, or other regulated computing environment.

• Working knowledge of security compliance frameworks (STIG, RMF, NIST 800-53/800-171) and their application to operational environments.

• Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage competing workloads across a team supporting multiple environments or sites.

• Strong communication skills — able to represent technical issues and team needs clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Ability to give direct, constructive feedback and hold difficult performance conversations.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Experience managing teams supporting multiple classified networks at different classification levels.

• Experience with Linux systems administration (RHEL/CentOS) in addition to Windows.

• Familiarity with virtualization platforms (VMware vSphere, Hyper-V) and enterprise storage.

• Experience supporting ATO preparation, SCA assessments, or security control implementation.

• Experience with configuration management or automation tools (Ansible, GPO, PDQ, SCCM).

• Experience with SIEM platforms (Splunk), vulnerability scanning tools (Tenable/Nessus), or endpoint management solutions.

• Prior experience scaling a team through a period of rapid growth or organizational change.
