Job Description
Head of DevOps (Remote)Experience: 10–15 years (with 5+ years in DevOps leadership)
About the RoleWe are looking for a Head of DevOps to own and scale our cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and platform reliability. This role will lead the DevOps function end-to-end, drive automation, security, and performance, and partner closely with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to support rapid and reliable product delivery.
Key Responsibilities:Leadership & StrategyDefine and execute the DevOps strategy, roadmap, and best practices across the organizationBuild, mentor, and lead a high-performing DevOps / SRE teamEstablish SLAs, SLOs, and reliability standards across environmentsCollaborate closely with Engineering leadership to improve deployment velocity and system stability
Infrastructure, Cloud & PlatformOwn and manage cloud infrastructure across AWS / Azure / GCPDesign scalable, highly available, and cost-optimized architecturesLead Infrastructure as Code initiatives using Terraform / CloudFormationManage and scale containerized workloads using Docker and KubernetesConfigure and manage NGINX and HAProxy for traffic routing and load balancing
CI/CD & AutomationDesign, implement, and optimize CI/CD pipelines using GitLab (self-managed), GitHub Actions, Jenkins, etc.Own and maintain on-prem, self-managed GitLab with end-to-end automationDrive automation across build, test, deployment, and infrastructure provisioningReduce deployment failures and MTTR through tooling and process improvements
Reliability, Monitoring & SecurityImplement and manage observability platforms including:Prometheus, Grafana, ELK Stack, Alertmanager, NetDataLead incident management, root cause analysis, and post-mortemsPartner with Security teams to enforce DevSecOps best practicesManage edge security, CDN, and proxy layers using Cloudflare (Workers, R2, Security, Auditing, Proxy)
Databases & Application OperationsOversee performance, availability, and reliability of databases and caches:PostgreSQL, MySQL, MSSQL, MongoDB, RedisSupport and manage Node.js administration in production environments
Required Skills & Qualifications10–15 years of experience in DevOps / Infrastructure / SRE roles5+ years of experience leading DevOps or Platform teamsStrong expertise in Linux, networking, and system architectureDeep hands-on experience with Docker, Kubernetes, CI/CD, and IaCStrong experience with cloud platforms (AWS / Azure / GCP)Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
Nice to HaveExperience in SaaS / B2B / high-scale platformsStrong exposure to microservices architectureFinOps / cloud cost optimization experiencePrior experience building DevOps from scratch or scaling teams rapidly
