Job Description
Role Overview
We are looking for a Chartered Accountant (CA) with hands-on experience in Product Management to build the strategy, roadmap, discovery and execution of our GST and e-invoicing platform.
This role sits at the intersection of tax regulations, finance operations and technology. You will be responsible for translating evolving statutory requirements and real-world taxpayer challenges into scalable, intuitive and technology-led SaaS products.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory & Product Planning
• Bring GST and Compliance expertise to product development, so that features are accurate, follow the law and are ready for regulatory changes on time.
Track GST Council decisions, CBIC/GSTN notifications and IRP/NIC changes, and turn them into product initiatives delivered ahead of compliance deadlines.
• Help prioritise initiatives based on customer impact, business value, regulatory urgency and technical feasibility.
• Spot market gaps and customer needs across enterprises, ERP ecosystems, GSPs/ASPs, tax practitioners and CA firms.
Domain Ownership
• Own the functional understanding of GSTR-1, GSTR-3B, GSTR-2A/2B, GSTR-9/9C, ITC reconciliation, e-invoicing and e-way bills.
• Translate law, rules and notifications into clear requirements, business rules, validations and user workflows.
• Define reconciliation logic and exception handling that improve accuracy, cut manual effort and reduce compliance risk.
Discovery & Execution
• Talk to customers, finance teams and CAs to understand workflows and pain points; validate ideas through prototypes and feedback.
• Identify AI and automation opportunities such as invoice data extraction, anomaly detection and reconciliation assistance.
• Write PRDs, user stories, acceptance criteria and test scenarios; work with engineering on APIs, ERP integrations and system workflows.
• Lead UAT and functional validation to ensure regulatory accuracy and quality before release.
Required Skills & Experience
Must-Have
• Educational Qualification: Chartered Accountant (CA) with a demonstrated transition into Product Management.
• Domain Expertise: Strong working knowledge of Indian indirect tax, particularly GST law and processes, GST returns, ITC reconciliation, e-invoicing and e-way bills. Exposure to GSP/ASP ecosystems, GSTN, IRP and NIC APIs
• Product experience: Hands-on experience across the product lifecycle (discovery, requirements, launch, iteration), ideally in compliance, tax-tech or fintech SaaS.
• Documentation: Clear PRDs, user stories, functional specs and test scenarios.
• Technical understanding: Working knowledge of APIs, integrations and ERP/accounting platforms; comfortable working with engineers.
• Data & communication: Uses data and customer insights to make decisions; communicates well across engineering, business, customer success and leadership.
• Prior experience in tax advisory, statutory audit, finance operations or enterprise compliance before transitioning into Product Management
Good to Have
• Experience building AI-enabled products or features, with an understanding of AI capabilities and their application in compliance and finance workflows.
• Experience working with enterprise customers and ERP ecosystems such as SAP, Oracle and Tally.
• Understanding of data security, privacy, regulatory compliance and enterprise SaaS requirements.
