Data Analyst
Job Description
• Report Preparation & Validation: Prepare, review, and validate operational and management reports to ensure completeness, accuracy, and timely delivery.
• Data Accuracy & Integrity: Verify that source data is accurate, complete, and consistent before it is incorporated into reports and dashboards.
• Data Formatting & Standardization: Ensure data is presented in the correct format, structure, naming convention, and reporting template as per business requirements.
• Numerical Validation: Cross-check calculations, totals, percentages, variances, and key metrics to identify and correct discrepancies.
• Data Reconciliation: Reconcile data across multiple sources, systems, and reports to ensure consistency and identify gaps or mismatches.
• Quality Checks: Establish and perform pre-publication quality checks to ensure reports are error-free before sharing with stakeholders.
• Exception Identification: Identify unusual trends, missing data, duplicate records, inconsistencies, and reporting anomalies and coordinate their resolution.
• Source-to-Report Validation: Trace reported numbers back to their source data to confirm the accuracy and integrity of key metrics.
• Dashboard & MIS Support: Review dashboards, MIS reports, and analytical outputs to ensure that underlying data and calculations are accurate.
• Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to automate repetitive validation activities and improve reporting efficiency and accuracy.
• Documentation: Maintain reporting definitions, data sources, validation procedures, and quality-control checklists.
• Timely Delivery: Ensure all scheduled reports are completed and distributed within agreed timelines without compromising data quality.
• Continuous Improvement: Develop and implement data-quality controls, validation rules, and reporting standards to minimize recurring errors.
