Job Description
Primary Responsibilities:• Review and accurately assign E/M codes for outpatient physician services in accordance with current coding guidelines.
• Ensure compliance with CPT, ICD-10-CM, CMS, and payer-specific regulations.
• Analyze medical documentation to determine the appropriate level of service based on Medical Decision Making (MDM), time, and other applicable guidelines.
• Conduct coding audits and provide feedback to providers when necessary.
• Maintain productivity and quality standards established by the organization.
Required Qualifications:• Strong knowledge of Outpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding guidelines.
• Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and healthcare documentation requirements.
• Experience coding physician/professional fee services.
• Ability to interpret clinical documentation and apply coding guidelines accurately.
• Should be certified from AAPC/AHIMA
Preferred Qualifications:• Working knowledge of Inpatient Evaluation and Management (E/M) coding.
• Experience with both outpatient and inpatient physician coding.
• Familiarity with CMS and specialty-specific coding guidelines.
