Senior Database Agent Experience: 15–20 Years Location: Chennai Employment Type: Full-Time Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Senior Database Agent with 15–20 years of expertise in database design, development, administration, and management. The role requires strong hands-on experience in Oracle and PostgreSQL databases, cloud-based database migration (Oracle to PostgreSQL on AWS RDS), project leadership, and delivering robust, high-performance database solutions for enterprise applications in domains such as Healthcare, Airlines, and ERP systems. Roles & Responsibilities • Architect, design, develop, and administer Oracle and PostgreSQL databases for complex enterprise applications.
• Design and optimize relational database schemas to meet business and performance requirements.
• Lead Oracle to PostgreSQL database migration projects in cloud environments (AWS RDS / Aurora) using tools such as HVR and DMS.
• Develop and maintain complex PL/SQL and PgSQL stored procedures, functions, and packages for backend business logic and data validation.
• Manage database administration tasks including user/role management, security, backup & recovery, and performance tuning to ensure high availability and zero-downtime operations.
• Handle project management activities covering initiation, planning, execution, monitoring, risk assessment, and timely delivery.
• Gather requirements from business users, prepare functional and technical design documents, and provide end-to-end solution architecture.
• Oversee ETL processes and data migration with thorough validation of objects, record counts, and constraints.
• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to development teams throughout the project lifecycle (development, testing, UAT, and post go-live support).
• Ensure data security and compliance by implementing encryption methods and best practices for sensitive information.
• Monitor and improve database processes, suggest operational enhancements, and deliver high-quality solutions within agreed timelines.
Requirements • 15–20 years of experience in Database Development, Management, Administration, and Migration projects. • Strong expertise in Oracle (11g–19c) and PostgreSQL databases. • Proven hands-on experience in Oracle to PostgreSQL migration in AWS cloud environment. • Extensive knowledge of AWS RDS for both Oracle and PostgreSQL. • Deep experience in PL/SQL, PgSQL, database design, and performance optimization. • Experience in leading technical teams and managing projects independently. • Bachelor’s / Master’s degree in Computer Science / Information Technology (M.Sc. IT preferred). Preferred Attributes • Experience working in Healthcare • Exposure to Terraform, Pentaho, and other ETL/migration tools. • Strong problem-solving, troubleshooting, and client communication skills. • Ability to work independently while leading and mentoring technical teams.
