Job DescriptionPosition: Senior Engineer – MISDepartment: Operations & Maintenance (Renewable Energy)Reporting To: Sr. Manager – O&M;
Role PurposeThe Senior Engineer – MIS is primarily responsible for end‑to‑end management reporting, data analysis, and performance tracking for a multi‑GW portfolio of renewable energy assets. The role ensures accurate, timely, and insightful reporting to management, clients, and senior leadership, enabling data‑driven decision‑making, performance improvement, and governance.
Key ResponsibilitiesMIS Ownership & Reporting• • Own the preparation, validation, and publishing of Daily, Fortnightly, Monthly, and Ad‑hoc MIS reports for renewable energy projects.
• Consolidate data from multiple project sites covering generation, availability, downtime, losses, PR, equipment health, and compliance parameters.
• Ensure single‑source‑of‑truth reporting, data accuracy, version control, and audit readiness.
• Standardize MIS templates, formats, KPIs, and reporting methodologies across all sites and technologies.
• Automate and improve reporting processes to reduce manual effort and errors.
Performance Analysis & Insights• • Analyze asset performance against operational, contractual, and budgeted benchmarks.
• Identify trends, deviations, recurring issues, and systemic gaps through detailed data analysis.
• Develop root‑cause analysis (RCA) summaries for underperformance, high downtime, or OEM deviations.
• Translate raw data into clear insights and recommendations for management and leadership teams.
• Track and report performance improvement initiatives and closure of action items.
Dashboards, Presentations & Visualization• • Design and maintain management dashboards and visual performance trackers.
• Prepare CMD, leadership, and client review presentations with strong narrative and data storytelling.
• Present MIS insights during:
• Daily review meetings
• Fortnightly & Monthly performance reviews
• CMD and senior management reviews
• Provide executive‑level summaries highlighting key risks, priorities, and decisions required.
OEM, Vendor & Client Reporting• • Prepare performance scorecards for OEMs and third‑party service providers.
• Track SLA compliance, availability guarantees, response times, and penalty / incentive metrics.
• Support client reporting requirements, audits, and periodic performance reviews.
• Act as the MIS focal point for client queries related to performance, reports, and data clarifications.
Meetings, Reviews & Governance• • Drive daily performance review meetings through structured data and dashboards.
• Prepare action trackers and ensure follow‑up reporting on action closure.
• Coordinate CMD review meetings from a data and reporting perspective.
• Maintain historical performance databases for trend and year‑on‑year comparisons.
Qualifications & Experience• • Education: B.E./B.Tech (Electrical)
• Experience:
• 5–8 years in MIS, performance reporting, or asset analytics within renewable energy / power sector
• Key Skills:
• Advanced MS Excel, PowerPoint; strong data handling skills
• BI tools (Power BI / Tableau – preferred)
• Strong understanding of wind KPIs, availability, PR, loss analysis
• High attention to detail and data accuracy
