Job Description
Substation Operations:
• Support routine and breakdown maintenance activities for 66 kV substations.
• Ensure substation equipment (breakers, isolators, CTs, PTs, relays) are operating within defined parameters.
• Assist in testing, commissioning, and protection coordination.
• Maintain logs, SOPs, and compliance documentation for regulatory audits.
Transmission Line Maintenance:
• Conduct patrolling and periodic inspections of 66 kV transmission lines.
• Identify right-of-way issues, vegetation management needs, and tower integrity concerns.
• Support shutdown planning and maintenance work execution.
Technical & Safety Compliance:
• Adhere to statutory and internal safety protocols.
• Participate in safety audits, root cause analyses, and corrective actions.
• Maintain equipment performance logs, testing records, and calibration data.
Team Coordination & Supervision:
• Supervise contractors and field staff during routine operations and projects.
• Liaise with load dispatch centers, control rooms, and engineering teams.
• Ensure effective communication and coordination for planned and unplanned outages.
Project Support:
• Assist in new substation or line installation projects (66 kV scope).
• Participate in material verification, site readiness, and progress monitoring.
• Report project status to management and flag risks or delays.
Qualifications & Skills:
• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 6–7 years of relevant experience in 66 kV substation and transmission line O&M.;
• Working knowledge of protection systems, SCADA, and testing protocols.
• Familiar with safety norms like IS/IEC standards, CEA regulations.
• Proficient in MS Office, AutoCAD basics, and power system software tools (ETAP/PSCAD – optional).
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and communication skills.
