Job Description

BACKGROUND The Hans Foundation (THF), established in 2009, is a Public Charitable Trust that works towards creating an equitable society to enhance quality of life for all through the empowerment of marginalized and underprivileged communities in India. The Hans Foundation works for the Health and Wellbeing of remote and under-served groups, with an additional focus on children, persons with disabilities and women. THF also works for holistic Education and Livelihood development of our communities. Our Two-Fold Strategy involves identifying and working within Aspirational Districts and high poverty index in the North, North-East and East regions within specific states, as well as catering to lower-income and migratory populations in cities, through urban programs.
Over its 15 years of existence, THF has reached more than 35 million beneficiaries through its programs. THF works with communities through direct implementation of projects on the ground in addition to providing local management and monitoring support to not-for-profit organisations in India funded through THF USA and RIST.

Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Community Organizer to oversee the technical and documentation aspects of a newly established Community rehabilitation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in project management, specifically in healthcare settings, and have expertise in managing technical systems and documentation processes. This individual will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective operation of the center. Job Description:
1. Community Engagement: Develop liaison with local communities, weavers, knitters, tailors, and other stakeholders.2. Mobilization and Awareness: Organize and conduct community meetings, workshops, and awareness campaigns to educate and mobilize community members about the project’s objectives, benefits and opportunities.3. Capacity Building: Facilitate training sessions and workshop to enhance the skills and knowledge of the community members in handloom, knitting and stitching techniques, entrepreneurship, marketing, and other relevant areas.4. Resource Mobilization: Collaborate with local government authorities to mobilize resources, and other support for the project.5. Regularly monitor project activities at field level, data collection of the beneficiaries.6. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain Accurate records, prepare reports, and document success stories, challenges, and lessons learned from the project implementation.
Other requirements:
1. Knowledge of handloom or knitting or stitching techniques, traditional crafts, and day to day operations in these sectors.2. Ability to work independently, prioritize task, and meet deadlines.3. Proficiency in local languages and computer skills would be an advantage.
