Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager with a background in cruise ship operations to oversee planning, coordination, and execution of operations for a cruise sector programme. The role is client-facing and involves working alongside a leading professional-services advisory team, cruise operators, port authorities, and industry stakeholders to drive delivery against programme objectives.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee day-to-day operations across the cruise programme, ensuring alignment with schedules, service standards, and delivery milestones. • Coordinate across cruise operators, port authorities, vendors, and supply-chain functions to ensure smooth execution of programme activities. • Develop and manage operational plans, budgets, resource allocation, and progress tracking. • Monitor operational timelines, identify bottlenecks, and implement corrective action plans. • Ensure compliance with applicable maritime safety, quality, and regulatory protocols across operations. • Liaise with stakeholders on operational status, risks, and mitigation measures. • Oversee documentation, reporting, and performance metrics for the programme. • Manage and supervise operational teams and vendor personnel to maintain service and delivery standards. • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, guest experience, and cost-effectiveness.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor's degree in maritime studies, operations management, hospitality, or a related field; a postgraduate qualification is an advantage. • 8–12 years of experience in operations management, with demonstrated experience in cruise ship operations, passenger vessel operations, or the marine hospitality sector. • Strong knowledge of cruise operations, itinerary planning, port coordination, and onboard service delivery. • Demonstrated experience managing cross-functional teams and vendor ecosystems. • Working knowledge of maritime regulatory, safety, and compliance requirements. • Proficiency in project management and operations tracking tools.
