Job Description
OVERVIEW OF THE POSITIONCreate and develop mechanical systems, components, and subassemblies for e-machines.
ROLECreate mechanical designs for automotive components and systems, from concept to production.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES• Work on mechanical design aspects of automotive components, with a high level of drafting and 3D CAD modelling skills using Unigraphics NX CAD software.
• Design plastic, sheet metal, casting and machined parts.
• Apply a strong understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T;).
• Apply sound understanding of mechanical design, manufacturing processes of various components and engineering materials.
• Prepare and present mechanical designs at design reviews, and support design teams.
• Prototyping – support the creation and testing of prototypes for design validation.
• Report progress of all assigned tasks to the Reporting Manager.
• Create BOMs in SAP and Windchill.
EDUCATION QUALIFICATIONBE/BTech or ME/MTech in Mechanical / Mechatronics / Machine Design.
EXPERIENCEAround 2–5 years of working experience in Automotive Product Design.
DESIRED FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES• Good at 2D/3D work (modelling, assembly and drafting) in Unigraphics CAD software, and the Windchill system for BOM creation.
• Knowledge of GD&T; and manufacturing processes.
• Proactive approach and good communication skills.
