Material Planner
Job Description
1. Role overview
This role ensures the availability of components and trading products at the required date to support production plans, while optimizing inventory levels, procurement planning and transport organization. The Material Planner acts as a key interface between suppliers, purchasing, planning, production, logistics and warehouse teams to secure material flows and prevent supply disruptions.
2. Proposed mission
Ensure the availability of components and trading products at nominal date to enable the execution of production plans, while optimizing inventory management, procurement priorities and transport organization.
3. Main responsibilities
• Update long-term procurement plans on an 18 to 24-month horizon.
• Perform stock sizing activities to ensure the right balance between material availability and inventory optimization.
• Evaluate shortage risks, identify potential supply disruptions and take corrective actions in coordination with internal and external stakeholders.
• Analyze the consistency of requirements and send purchase orders, forecasts and procurement priorities to suppliers.
• Manage pre-production requirements, ramp-ups and ramp-downs to support product lifecycle and production changes.
• Book transport flows and track their execution to ensure timely delivery of materials and trading products.
• Follow up supplier receipt acknowledgments, overdue deliveries and delivery confirmations.
• Give priority instructions on daily deliveries according to production needs and shortage risks.
• Ensure the reliability of master data in the information system, including planning, procurement and logistics parameters.
• Lead and contribute to continuous improvement plans related to procurement planning, supplier follow-up, stock accuracy and material flow performance.

• Impact of supply disruptions on customer service rate.
• Healthy Stock Ratio.
• Supplier service rate.
• Days of Inventory Outstanding.
• Number and criticality of shortages affecting production plans.
• On-time execution of procurement and transport follow-up actions.
5. Target recruitment profile
The ideal profile is a structured and analytical supply chain professional with strong planning discipline, good understanding of procurement flows, supplier follow-up, inventory management and transport coordination. The person should be able to anticipate risks, prioritize actions and work closely with production, purchasing, logistics and suppliers to secure material availability.
6. Main interfaces
The role will interact regularly with Quality teams, NPI/EOL coordinators, Transport teams, Warehouse teams, Purchasing teams, Production, Planning, Technical Data teams, suppliers and transport service providers. It requires strong coordination to align material needs, supplier commitments, transport execution and production priorities.
