Job Description

1. Role overview

The Quality Technician operates within Mass Production Quality and autonomously applies approved quality methods, inspection standards and technical specifications to routine operational situations. The role protects product and process conformity by carrying out inspections, supporting product and process validations, maintaining reliable records and measurement equipment, applying approved containment or deviation instructions, and escalating risks and non-conformities to the appropriate Quality authority.

2. Proposed mission

Guarantee the timely and reliable inspection and validation of products and processes by applying approved control instructions, control plans, process flows, technical specifications and applicable quality requirements; ensure the correct use of inspection equipment; support containment, deviation and problem-solving activities; and provide accurate evidence for conformity decisions made by the designated Quality authority.

3. Main responsibilities

• Apply inspection instructions, control plans, acceptance criteria, process flow diagrams and applicable quality procedures.
• Perform technical inspections of products, components, batches and processes using the defined methods and approved equipment.
• Read and interpret drawings, ISO-GPS dimensional tolerances, technical specifications, samples and inspection documentation.
• Use relevant information from Design FMEA and Process FMEA to understand identified risks, critical characteristics and the controls required in routine activities.
• Support the execution of product and process validation plans, including Safe Launch activities, and accurately record the results and supporting evidence.
• Verify that inspection equipment is suitable, available, clean, correctly stored and within its calibration or verification status.
• Record inspection and validation results accurately and maintain traceability of checks, samples, batches, deviations and decisions.
• Identify, segregate and report non-conforming products or processes according to the established escalation procedure.
• Support quarantine and containment actions internally or externally, including blocking batches, changing production lots or launching sorting activities when required and authorised.
• Apply and monitor approved temporary deviations, ensuring correct identification, traceability, compliance with defined conditions and escalation before expiry.
• Participate in the implementation and verification of approved product, process or inspection-method changes, confirming that the latest documentation is used.
• Provide inspection data and technical findings to the Quality team to support communication with suppliers, customers or other external partners; do not independently approve deviations, release non-conforming product or close external claims.
• Register, update or consult non-conformities and claims in the applicable quality management systems, including TEEXMA or INTERCO where used locally.
• Support recurring-defect analysis and contribute factual data to 8D, problem-solving and continuous-improvement activities.
• Contribute to lessons learned by documenting recurring issues and proposing updates to inspection standards, control instructions and quality knowledge bases.
• Apply relevant product and process requirements, including applicable RoHS, REACH, UL or other customer, legal and regulatory requirements defined for the inspected scope.
• Follow safety, cleanliness, 5S, product-handling and environmental requirements in inspection areas.
• Escalate any anomaly or risk that could affect product conformity, validation status, delivery commitments or the customer promise.
4. Performance indicators

• Inspection service rate and percentage of inspections completed within the required deadline.
• Rate of non-conforming batches or products detected during inspection.
• Accuracy, completeness and traceability of inspection records.
• Number of inspection errors, missed defects or unjustified rejections.
• Response time for segregation, quarantine and escalation of non-conformities.
• Compliance of inspection equipment with storage, cleanliness and calibration requirements.
• Contribution to reduction of recurring defects, sorting activities and quality incidents.
5. Target recruitment profile

The ideal candidate is a rigorous and attentive technical professional who can follow standardized inspection methods while remaining alert to abnormalities and risks. The person should be comfortable working close to production and logistics, making objective conformity decisions, maintaining accurate records and communicating issues without delay.

6. Main interfaces

The role interacts regularly with Quality Leaders, Production, Warehouse and Logistics Operators, Process Owners, Metrology, Industrialization and Engineering. It may provide inspection evidence to support Quality-led exchanges with suppliers, customers or external containment providers, but does not independently represent the company, approve deviations, release non-conforming product or close external claims. Clear communication and timely escalation are essential whenever results may affect production, validation or delivery.
